This was a big weekend for the Penn Charter Quakers lacrosse team. The Quakers had a rough start to their season, losing to three leading Maryland teams. Now, it was the Quakers chance to turn it around – which is exactly what they did against two impressive top ranked national teams.
On Friday, March 22nd, Penn Charter gained their first win against the Landon Bears. The match-up was held at Towson University for the Lacrosse Playground Spring Classic. The Quakers brought the heat to Maryland, finishing with a sweeping defeat of 6-5. Many players contributed to this key win, including:

Following Friday’s game, Penn Charter traveled to Virginia to compete against St. Steven’s & St. Agnes. After beating Landon, the Quakers were able to gain confidence to compete against the top-ranked team, resulting in a 9-8 final win. Both teams finished the first quarter tied at four, but the Quakers attacked in the second quarter, outscoring the Saints in the first half with a 7-3 lead.
Shortly after, St. Stevens & St. Agnes brought it back in the third and fourth quarter, tying it up. The teams battled it out to the last minutes remaining, allowing Penn Charter’s Kevin Murphy the final goal to win the game with 3:25 remaining. Key contributors in this win include:
